10-11am

  • Welcome and registration

  • Electrathon vehicles prepare for technical competition (front parking lot)

11-12:00

  • Electrathon technical competition briefing (11am in parking lot)
  • Electrathon vehicle technical competition and judging (front parking lot)
  • EVCO vehicles on display with demonstrations
  • Human Powered Vehicles on display in Technology Park

12-1pm Lunch

  • There are several fast food restaurants withn a few minutes walk on St. Laurent Blvd. The museum also has a cafeteria.
  • Some vehicles will remain on display at the discretion of exhibitors

1-2pm

  • Electrathon vehicle demonstrations (West parking lot)
  • EVCO vehicles on display
  • Human Powered Vehicles on display (Technology Park)

12:00 History of Electric Vehicles - Fred Green, EVCO

Fred Green is a founding member of EVCO and has been driving electric cars for decades. He currently operates a converted VW Jetta, and a bright red convertible Dutton roadster.

Errol discusses component selection in electric vehicle design.

  • Darryl McMahon - "The Hydrogen Economy"
  • David Behn - "Hydrogen power applications and fuel cells"

    Darryl and David will each present differing perspectives on the practical aspects of hydrogen powered vehicles.

Transport Canada - Advanced Technology Vehicles Program

3:00 Electrathon roundtable.

EVCO will host a forum on the future of Electrathon, and opportunities for competition. Will include rules review, vehicle design and technical roundtable. Primarily directed to teams interested in the future of Electrathon competition in Ottawa.

Other invitees include representatives from the Motosport Club of Ottawa and Ottodrome International Speedway.

Technical inspections - based on compliance with Electrathon Vehicle Design Guidelines and judges criteria:

  • First prize

Best logbook - $200 (IEE)

  1. Developmemnt plan for the vehicle
  2. Cost plan
  3. Description of the vehicle
  4. Technical analysis to determine structure and potential performance
  5. Reason for selection of key components. motors, batteries wheels, steering, control system etc
  6. Sketches, drawings, circuit diagrams and photographs to demonstrate constuction process
  7. List of problems and solutions resolved during the building process
  8. Description of tests and results undertaken during the building process.
